Madden 23 sliders where ratings matter.
I gave up on Madden football over a decade ago after many of the same frustrations I see that are still happening. Well, my teenage son plays Madden and I dabbled a little with Madden 22. Really liked some things and hated others.
My vision of playing simulation football is one where player ratings matter, injuries impact all teams, player rotation, turnovers are legit, penalties are called and you win or lose based on these factors for the most part.
I have noticed that most sliders have little impact on the game. What I mean by this is it appears only a hand full of sliders seem to actually do much such as:
fumbles
roughing the passer
speed parity
injuries
fatigue
WR catch
QB accuracy.
With defense seemingly overpowered, especially passing defense and interceptions, my goal was to try to balance this affect.
I have spent hours trying all kinds of sliders sets, reading all of the theories out there about what sliders actually do and if you do this while you do that or turn off accelerated clock and on and on. I know how crazy the search the perfect sim game can make you so I totally respect and appreciate all of those that share.
That all being said Im sharing what works for me after many hours of testing. I play offline 32 team control. I sim special teams only to make it more fair. On defense I control an interior lineman only. I only pick plays suggested by the coach or game plan. Audible as much as you want, hot route, motion etc. you will need to.
Control all 32 teams so you can change auto subs and weekly strategy. You can get as involved as you want with teams. It is only necessary to change auto subs for the team you are playing. I choose owner, financial mogul.
Make sure to turn off ***Superstar abilities off*** and all defensive helpers except auto flip for each team.
With this set I am seeing penalties, good auto sub rotation and with the QB and WR setting at 100 it appears to balance out the over powered pass defense. This has produced some very fun and exciting games for me.
Dont let the 100 or 0 setting scare you, You will have to work to stop there offense but there are drops and missed passes if you know what your doing on defense. You must be able to read a defense or you will throw picks no matter what, especially late over the middle, back across the body and late on out routes.
Whether the new passing or classic passing you must know how to place the ball so your receiver can win. Im by no means a great player, the picks I have thrown for the most part are my bad decisions, while the CPU will do so as well that leads to an Int. I have not seen more than 3 picks in one game with this set, 2 were my bad the other was a poor throw from the CPU. The receiver and defensive back interactions have been very realistic and spectacular in some instances.
