Accident on A470
There has been an accident on part of the A470 between Mallwyd and Gwynedd in the past half an hour.
There is heavy traffic in both directions near the river bridge.

'Long delays'
We're told that the tailbacks from an accident on the A55 westbound before J33A Brookside (Northop Hall East) at 2pm this afternoon extend to the Shotwick / Birkenhead turn off, according to traffic website Inrix.
An initial report suggested this was all due to a break down.

Traffic Wales has sent out a post on X about the earlier accident on the A55 between Mold and Northop Hall. It says that there remains "heavy congestion" in the area.
The original post on X about this collision, on the westbound carriageway between Junction 33B and Junction 33A, went out some two and a half hours ago at 1.48pm.

There is also queueing traffic on the A494 westbound between A548 / A550 (Drome Corner) and A550 Gladstone Way (Queensferry). Travel time through this area is 40 minutes, according to traffic website Inrix.

There are major queues on the A494 and A55 in Flintshire, with one driver who recently drove past describing at as 'carnage' with traffic jams 'as far as the eye can see'

Major delays are being reported across the road network as people look to get away at the start of the summer holidays. Here is a round-up of affected main roads, according to the Inrix traffic service:
- A55 Flintshire: One lane blocked and queueing traffic due to broken down vehicle on A55 North Wales Expressway Westbound before J33A Brookside (Northop Hall East). Congestion to the Queensferry / Sandycroft turn off).
- A55 Flintshire: One lane blocked due to broken down vehicle on A55 North Wales Expressway Westbound between J32 A5026 (Holywell) and J31 A5151 (Caerwys). Traffic is coping well.
- A483 Chirk: Slow traffic on A483 Wrexham Bypass Southbound at A5 (Halton Roundabout). Travel time is 15 minutes.
- A494 Queensferry: Queueing traffic on A494 Westbound between A548 / A550 (Drome Corner) and A550 Gladstone Way (Queensferry). Travel time is 20 minutes.
- A5 Chirk: Queueing traffic on A5 Chirk Bypass Northbound at A483 (Halton Roundabout). Travel time is ten minutes.
