In Orb: On Movements of the Earth episode 11, the narrative deepens as Nowak introduces his two new recruits to the harsh and unyielding world of the inquisitors. One recruit eagerly embraces the role, proving his readiness by performing torture on his very first day. In contrast, the second recruit shows a more compassionate side, advocating for dialogue and understanding before resorting to violence. However, Nowak leaves no room for doubt, emphasizing the absolute necessity of following orders without exception.
Meanwhile, Badeni confides in Jolenta, revealing a groundbreaking discovery: he has completed the heliocentric theory, proving that the Earth revolves around the sun. The tension rises as Nowak storms into a local tavern, his mere presence striking fear into Oczy, who grows visibly uneasy.

Orb: On Movements of the Earth (Season 1) Episode 11 “Terror” Recap:
The episode opens with Nowak introducing himself to the two new inquisitor recruits. Since it is the recruit’s first day, Nowak gives a brief idea about the inquisitor’s job. As an inquisitor, it is going to be hard to deal with heretics, but the recruits will get used to it in time. The job is a pain as it requires a lot of paperwork to close even one single case.
If the recruits want to climb up the ranks, then they should take cases that are cosmos-related and win over the Bishop. Instead of trying to chase a big target, the recruits should take smaller cases and increase the numbers. The Bishop used to study astronomy but now is allergic to it. As Nowak is about to take the recruits to the inquisitor chamber, a clergyman, Antoni, meets Nowak and expresses his annoyance as the Bishop is hiring more inquisitor recruits.
What do the recruits learn on their first day as inquisitors?
Once Antoni leaves, Nowak tells the recruits that Antoni is the Bishop’s son. The recruits are confused as the Bishop is supposed to be celibate. So Nowak says in public, the Bishop is celibate, but in private, the Bishop has a son. As the recruits enter the inquisitor chamber, they are shocked to see a woman tied to a chair and blindfolded. Nowak tells the recruits that the woman says she does not know anything about the black mass, but there have been multiple sources who say otherwise. As the first task, the recruits need to learn how to use the thumb screw. So, the first recruit does as he is told. When the woman does not cooperate, the recruit cuts one of the woman’s thumbs. It’s the second recruit’s turn, and he is unable to do the task.

The first recruit takes over, and this time, the woman reveals that her neighbor Anna gave information about the black mass. The reason the woman wanted to visit the black mass was to get medicinal herbs for her sick brother. Outside, the second recruit apologizes for not completing the task. Instead of getting angry, Nowak understands that it is the recruit’s first day. When the second recruit enquires if they can have more dialogue before torturing, Nowak refuses. The inquisitors don’t have a say in anything, but they do as they are told. The conversation is interrupted as another inquisitor calls Nowak for an emergency dispatch.
Orb: On Movements of the Earth (Season 1) Episode 11 “Terror” Ending Explained:
Revelations and New Beginnings: Secrets, Ambitions, and Unlikely Connections
Elsewhere, Badeni is about to write a letter when Oczy interrupts him. Soon, Oczy and Badeni meet Jolenta in a tavern. Badeni reveals to Jolenta that the work is done, and he is ready to go public. Even though Badeni has disproved the geocentric theory, he knows there is a lot of explaining to do in terms of natural philosophy.
Once Badeni finishes the final preparations, he will head to a republic in the southwest where there is a little more freedom to do research. To make a living, Badeni will tutor kids from rich families. Meanwhile, Oczy will leave the city, work for a few years, and join a university. On the other hand, Jolenta’s senior Kolbe has been promoted and has asked Jolenta to join the new astronomy research team.
Eventually, Jolenta wants to publish a treatise in her name and set a precedent for future women in the field. Suddenly, Jolenta remembers Oczy’s book and asks him to share the content. However, Oczy refuses as it is not for public knowledge. Out of the blue, Nowak appears at the tavern, sending shivers down Oczy’s spine. It turns out Jolenta is Nowak’s daughter.
Will Nowak’s Loyalty to His Daughter Clash with His Duty as an Inquisitor?
Furthermore, Jolenta does not know what Nowak does for a living. Through the conversation, Badeni tells Nowak that Jolenta is brilliant when it comes to astronomy. Soon, everyone parts ways, and Oczy is about to tell Badeni who is Nowak. Unfortunately, Oczy is interrupted by Nowak. Now Nowak asks if Oczy and Badeni have some time to spare and properly introduces himself as an inquisitor.
The episode comes with a twist as Jolenta is Nowak’s daughter, who is unaware that Nowak is an inquisitor. Since Nowak received an emergency dispatch it probably is for Badeni and Oczy. However, it could just be that there is someone in that area who is a heretic and may ask Badeni and Oczy for help. Since there is an underground tunnel from Oczy’s barn, Badeni and Oczy may escape before Nowak can catch them. If Badeni and Oczy are caught and reveal Jolenta’s role in the research, Nowak will face a dilemma. If Nowak’s daughter is a heretic, then will Nowak be able to imprison and cut off Jolenta’s thumb?
